


Police are investigating an early morning shooting in which a man was shot in an Elgin apartment and his alleged attacker fled.
The incident occurred about 3:10 a.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of Gleneagle Circle, a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page said.
Officers responded to a call about a shooting and found a man who had a non-life-threatening gunshot injury, the post said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect fled in a vehicle and is being sought, the post said.
No information was released on what provoked the shooting, if the victim was shot more than once or if the suspect and victim knew each other.
