Allen Pugh, 84, of Royal Oak, MI, passed away on June 2, 2024, at his home surrounded by his adoring family. He was born on June 11, 1940, to the late Carl “Tony” Pugh and Marguerite (Considine) Pugh. Allen was a U.S. Army Veteran and a proud member of the IBEW Local 58 for fifty years, where he worked as a master journey- Allen was a loving, loyal, man electrician. & hardworking man--and boy was he funny! His quick wit and exceptional sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. A giant among men, people gravitated to him when he entered a room. His love and devotion to his family was unparalleled, and while he was many things to many people, to his family, he was everything. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gloria (Caruso) Pugh, his children: Amy Pugh, Meredith Morse (Dan), Elizabeth Arsov (Branko), Tony Pugh (Lauren), & his twelve grandchildren: Madeline, Claire, Vivian, Jane, Robert, Teddy, Mary-Kate, Charlie, Annie, Edward, Josie, & Maggie. He is also survived by four sisters: Carolyn Snell (Bob), Kathy Britt (Joe), Diane Snell, Debbie Taylor (Lorne), & his best friend, Mike Hallam (Ruth). Allen is predeceased by his father, mother, and brother, Carl Pugh (Suzanne). Allen enjoyed playing cards, golfing, classic cars, & all things comedy. He loved hockey, spending time with his grandchildren, forwarding TikTok reels, & traveling to Florida with his wife. A voracious reader, Allen did the NY Times crossword in pen & never met a Sudoku he couldn’t beat. He also dethroned Ken Jennings from the comfort of his own home, as his Jeopardy prowess was superb. He did not enjoy suits or funerals, so at his request, formalities are being skipped. Instead, when you hear an Elton John song, sip an ice-cold beer, are told a bawdy joke, or enjoy time with loved ones, remember Al and the laughter he brought into your life.
