Cajon (1-0) at Etiwanda (2-0), 7 p.m.

IE Varsity info: Cajon opened the season with a 29-7 victory over Norco then had a bye last week. Senior running back Brandon Rivers was the offensive star in that season opener, rushing for 182 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Junior middle linebacker Taylor Johnson led the defensive effort for the Cowboys with 24 tackles. Etiwanda has outscored its first two opponents (Grand Terrace and Citrus Valley) by a combined score of 82-3. Junior Keegan Campusano has thrown for 449 yards and six touchdowns, while senior Aureliano Bedoy leads the receiving corps with 13 catches for 206 yards. Senior defensive back Bryce Johnson has intercepted a pass in each of the first two games.

Orange Vista (1-1) at Vista Murrieta (2-0), 7 p.m.

IE varsity info: Orange Vista found itself in a tight battle last week, but the Coyotes ultimately dropped a 33-26 decision to Downey. Junior Khalil Abdul-Aziz has passed for 443 yards and four touchdowns. The defense is led by senior lineman Iese Magalei, who had eight tackles and one sack in the season opener against Apple Valley. Vista Murrieta cruised to a 42-9 victory over Murrieta Mesa last week. The offense is led by junior quarterback Bryson Beaver and the receiving tandem of senior A.J. Jones and junior Sean McCullough. Junior linebacker Joshua Baker led the Broncos’ defense with 10 tackles in the season-opening victory over Great Oak.

Prediction: Vista Murrieta

Damien (2-0) at St. Paul (2-0), 7 p.m.

IE varsity info: Damien pulled out a thrilling 30-29 victory over Loyola last week. Junior Isaiah Arriaza tossed a 9-yard touchdown pass to junior Gavin Lennon with less than a minute to play, and then Arriaza connected with sophomore Travon Garrison for a 2-point conversion that gave the Spartans the lead. Arriaza has thrown for 574 yards and seven touchdowns, and senior James Taylor leads the ground attack with 166 yards. Senior linebacker Caden Arellano is the leader of the defense. St. Paul is coming off a 21-12 win over Bishop Amat last week. Junior Gabriel Castaneda has thrown for 310 yards and two touchdowns and has added three scores on the ground for the Swordsmen.

Timpview (1-1) at Centennial (0-2), 8 p.m.

IE varsity info: Centennial struggled in last week’s 31-15 loss to Santa Margarita, and the Huskies will look to recover from the program’s first 0-2 start since the 1998 season. Texas A&M-bound quarterback Husan Longstreet made his season debut last week, but Centennial coach Matt Logan said Longstreet and junior Dominick Catalano will continue to share snaps in the coming weeks. Arizona State-bound receiver Cory Butler Jr. has caught 12 passes for 151 yards. Timpview won a Utah state championship last season, but the Thunderbirds suffered a 31-24 loss on Aug. 23 to Lone Peak (Centennial’s Week 3 opponent). Junior Jaron Pula has caught 23 passes for 288 yards.

Ramona (2-0) vs. Hillcrest (2-0) at Arlington HS, 7 p.m.

IE varsity info: Ramona and Hillcrest were River Valley League rivals for 10 seasons, and the programs will continue the series tonight in a nonleague game. Hillcrest leads the series 6-4, including a 17-16 win last season. Ramona cruised to a 37-19 victory over Arlington last week. Senior Sincere Tolbert made his season debut and ran for 227 yards and four touchdowns. Senior Angel Barrios and junior Troy Long have combined for 43 tackles. Hillcrest held on for a 33-28 win over Santiago last week. Junior Matthew Ramos has passed for 315 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 271 yards and three scorers. Senior linebacker Robert Bustamante leads the Trojans with 23 tackles.

Shadow Hills (2-0) at Yucaipa (2-0), 7 p.m.

IE varsity info: Yucaipa’s offense has been in elite form, as the Thunderbirds have racked up 95 points and 849 yards through two games. Senior running back Logan Barbour has rushed for 282 yards and six touchdowns, and junior quarterback Deace Turner has added another 200 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Senior linebacker Will McHargue leads the defense with 21 tackles and three sacks. Shadow Hills has outscored its first two opponents by a combined score of 61-8. Senior Pedro Trujillo has thrown for 233 yards and three touchdowns and leads the team with 113 rushing yards. Senior linebacker Jordan Ramirez-Gomez tops the defense with 22 tackles.

Prediction: Yucaipa

Alta Loma (1-1) at Los Osos (1-0), 7 p.m.

IE varsity info: Alta Loma cruised to a 41-12 victory over Redlands East Valley, avenging a loss to the Wildcats last season. Sophomore Eamon Graves passed for 247 yards and two touchdowns, and freshman Ben Gutierrez had four catches for 190 yards and a touchdown. Senior Derrick Knowden-Williams scored three times on the ground for the Braves. Senior lineman John Eliasos leads the defense with three sacks. Los Osos rallied for a 32-28 victory over Don Lugo last week. Junior Caleb Taylor came off the bench and tossed an 84-yard touchdown pass to senior Jordan Caver to give the Grizzlies the lead. Junior safety Jacob Castro helped seal the win with an interception.

Aquinas (0-2) at Citrus Valley (0-1), 7 p.m.

IE varsity info: Aquinas will be looking to get its offense going after mustering a combined 15 points in games against Oak Hills and JSerra. Cal-bound athlete Jusyis “Jojo” Solis is splitting time at running back and wide receiver. He has registered 108 yards from scrimmage but has not found the end zone this year. Sophomore linebacker Brock Sailor leads the defense with 16 tackles. Citrus Valley dropped a 27-3 decision to Etiwanda in last week’s opener. Junior running back Damien Johnson was a bright spot with 56 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards. Linebackers Ismael Gonzalez and Ryan Barrios each had 15 tackles in the game.
