Park Forest cop released from hospital 14 months after being shot
Park Forest police Officer Tim Jones, donning his dress blues and flashing a radiant smile, was wheeled out of Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton on Friday, 14 months after being shot twice in the head while responding to a break-in.
It’s been a long, grueling journey for the 25-year-old rookie cop, whom doctors did not initially expect to survive, said his father, William Jones.
“We stood there, and day one the doctors did not give us one hour,”
