As a member of the St. Vrain Valley School District community, I believe we have an incredible opportunity before us.

The proposed 2024 bond initiative is more than just a financial plan; it’s a commitment to our children’s future, our community’s growth and the preservation of our values. One of the most compelling aspects of this bond proposal is that it offers substantial benefits without increasing property taxes. This means we can invest in our schools and our children’s future without placing additional financial burdens on our community members.

This bond proposal includes 91 carefully planned projects, all aimed at repurposing and updating educational spaces throughout the district. These projects aren’t just about renovation; they are about creating environments where our students can thrive.

Modernized classrooms, state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced learning environments will provide our children with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. Funding the proposal will benefit approximately 33,000 students, 13 communities and virtually 60 school facilities all without increasing our property taxes.

We all know that construction costs are rising, with inflation pushing them up by at least 5% annually. Waiting another five years to address our highest priority facility needs could increase the price tag by a staggering $200 million. By acting now, we can prevent these unnecessary costs, ensuring that our financial resources are used effectively and efficiently.

This bond initiative is about more than just numbers; it’s about believing in the potential of our students, the strength of our communities and the future of our SVVSD. By supporting this initiative, we’re not just improving schools, we’re making a long-term investment in the future of our children and our community.

I encourage every community member and parent to support this bond initiative. Talk to your neighbors, attend informational meetings and make your voice heard. Together, we can create a brighter future for the St. Vrain Valley School District — without increasing our property tax burden. Let’s act now and invest in what truly matters: our children, our schools and our community.
