The climate change farce
Re “The state’s fake market in energy” (Feb. 9):
Many would be very interested to know to whom and how much of this tax, customer and federal financing is going.
All the climate change farce people making billions flying all over the world as we sit in our homes and are told not to drive to work but take Metro as the lights go from green to red as quickly as we get from one light to the next. We’re sick to death of all the hypocrisy as our governance is doing the opposite of what would help everyone’s situation.
I actually have solar on my roof, a tankless water heater, double-pane windows, added insulation and low flush toilets but I don’t see our city, county or state doing anything even close to helping our situation and it is beyond aggravating as my wallet gets smaller while those who govern us brains get smaller and their wallets larger. Wrong!

DOGE
Were the Democrats not watching the numerous 2024 Trump campaign rallies where Donald Trump pledged to create a Department of Government Efficiency aimed at combating U.S. government waste, fraud, abuse and regulatory overreach, and headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy? Trump and Musk are doing exactly what they promised to do — and with exquisite transparency. Furthermore, they are doing it with overwhelming support from the majority of American taxpayers and business owners, Republicans and Democrats alike. If Democratic politicians continue railing against Elon Musk and fighting to perpetuate outrageously wasteful government spending, they risk losing the next election cycle even more spectacularly than the last one.

Illegal immigration
California government has a hard time understanding illegal immigration. Call them undocumented — the lack of legal documentation of citizenship is the problem.
If I choose not to renew my driver’s license, CHP doesn’t care how great of a driver I might be. I’m an unlicensed driver, and if I’m stopped, they won’t let me drive home. Why is it a legal requirement? Many reasons. There is a process. Society only works if we all follow the process.
