CARMEL >> Hannah Morley and Lucy Lilienthal-Wynn each scored 20-plus points, and the No. 10 seed San Lorenzo Valley High’s girls basketball team edged No. 7 Carmel 61-60 in overtime in the second round of the Central Coast Section Division IV playoffs on Saturday.

Morley made a pair of 3-pointers, 12 free throws, and finished with 26 points. Lilienthal-Wynn made three 3s and scored 22 points. Bella Reynolds scored 10 points.

SLV (18-7), the runner-up in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League, plays at No. 2 Half Moon Bay (16-8) in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The Cougars, the Peninsula Athletic League’s North Division champion, had a bye through the first two rounds.

Amelia Sizemore made her lone field goal in the game and SLV’s lone field goal in overtime, a 3-pointer, in overtime. Lilienthal-Wynn made three of SLV’s four free throws in the extra stanza.

Abby Shipnuck scored 21 points for the Padres (8-15), the sixth-place finisher in the Pacific Coast Athletic League’s Gabilan Division. Delaney Castagna scored 19 points and Elise Rydeheard added 12 points.

Greenfield 54, Soquel 53

GREENFIELD — The No. 10 Knights, who tied for third place in the SCCAL, fell short in their upset bid in the second round of the D-III playoffs.

The No. 7 Bruins, the PCAL Cypress Division champion, play at No. 2 Santa Cruz (20-6), the SCCAL champion, in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Cardinals had a bye through the first two rounds.

Gianna Winterhalder made four 3-pointers and scored 20 points for Soquel (10-16). Lily Thayer scored 10 points, Amelie Stotland scored nine points and Ana Mauer added eight points.

Yazmin Avalos scored 16 points for the Bruins. Latai Matelau scored 15 points.

Harker 57, Scotts Valley 25

SAN JOSE — Freshman Brooklyn Williams scored 15 points, but the unseeded lost to the No. 5 Eagles in the second round of the D-IV playoffs.

The Falcons, who tied for third in the SCCAL, end their season at 8-17.University Prep 39, Pacific Collegiate 34

SANTA CRUZ — No. 12 Golden Eagles knocked off the No. 5 Pumas in the second round of the Division V playoffs at Harbor High.

Maiya Armstrong had 16 points and three blocks for the Pumas (10-10), the runner-up in the PCAL Santa Lucia Division. Ellen Zhan had 11 points and four steals.

The Pumas graduated three seniors: Ellen Zhan, Malak Ahwal and Katharina Guth.

Boys Scotts Valley 61, Stevenson 56

PEBBLE BEACH — Will Shilling scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, as the No. 11 Falcons rallied past the No. 6 Pirates in the second round of the D-IV playoffs.

Tristan Roure scored 29 points for the Falcons (14-11), the third-place finisher in the SCCAL. Davie Bruce scored nine points. Bruce and Shilling each hit two free throws to clinch the upset.

Scotts Valley, the lowest remaining seed, plays at No. 3 Menlo (11-13) in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Knights, the fourth-place finisher in the West Bay Athletic League, had a bye through the first two rounds.

The Pirates, who tied for second in the PCAL’s Mission Division, end their season at 17-8.

At Palma 76, Harbor 25

SALINAS — Matt Munro scored 10 points for the unseeded Pirates, who were eliminated by the No. 5 Chieftains in the second round of the D-IV playoffs.

Miles Dix chipped in with five points for the Pirates (12-14), who finished in fifth place in the SCCAL.
