Boulder police have arrested a man on suspicion of a hit-and-run crash Wednesday that seriously injured a cyclist at 63rd Street and Spine Road in the Gunbarrel area.

Dustin Kelsey, 46, of the Parker area, was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury; careless driving causing injury; careless driving causing serious bodily injury to a vulnerable road user; and a misdemeanor charge for running a red light.At around 10:53 a.m. Wednesday, Boulder police were dispatched to the intersection of 63rd Street and Spine Road for a report of a crash involving a pickup truck and a cyclist, according to a release from the department.

The initial information indicates the cyclist, a man, was traveling eastbound on Spine Road approaching 63rd Street and had a green light, when a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling northbound on 63rd street approaching Spine Road struck the cyclist in the intersection, according to authorities.

The cyclist was then brought to the hospital with serious bodily injury.

The driver was last seen fleeing the scene north on 63rd Street, police wrote in a series of posts on X.

The intersection was closed in all directions but has since reopened, according to the department.
