Resident of San Jose
Allene Castello, 89, daughter to Allen and Katheryn Goodwin, twin sister to Mary Whitman, wife to Joe S Castello, mother to Sal Castello (Mabel) and Dianne (Steve) Castello, grandmother to Deena, Kyleen (Kristian), Jarron, Jacob, Jennifer, Dillon (Michelle), Ian (Kelsey), Conner (Vanessa) and great grandmother to Penny, Henry and Adriana passed on October 22 after a full life. Allene was born in San Francisco but moved to San Jose in the late 1930s where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a graduate of San Jose College.
She started her working life atDay and Young in the accounting department and after her marriage to Joe she used her accounting skills to support the family business.
Allene loved travel, her family and her dogs (not necessarily in that order). One of Allene's favorite things to do was shop. It didn't really matter what kind of store it was she always found something she needed. One of the best things about Allene was her sense of humor. She taught us all how important it is to find the humor in all situations. Allene brought joy to all our lives and was truly loved by all who knew her.
We will be having a Rosary at Oakhill Cemetery on Tuesday November 12th at 6pm. There will be a Mass at St. Julie Billiart Parish Wednesday November 13th 11am with a reception to follow at Three Flames on Meridian Ave. Mom always said she wanted her flowers while she was alive, so in lieu of flowers for the service buy your loved one a bouquet.
