


Macomb County is loaded with girls basketball talent, and Michigan sports writers acknowledged that in their recent all-state honors.
Three athletes from the area were voted as Division 1 all-state first teamers, one was named a second-teamer and three more received honorable mentions.
Ford’s Anayya Davis was voted as a first team all-state selection. The senior scored 21.2 points per game with 7.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 40.7% from 3.
Only a sophomore, Chippewa Valley’s Gracyn Carrier earned first team all-state honors after averaging 19 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game. She set the school record for steals in a season with 95 and is a two-time MAC all-league selection.
The third all-state nomination went to Eisenhower’s Devyn Raymond. The senior helped lead the Eagles to a breakout season, averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and a block per game.MAC White Player of the Year and Anchor Bay standout Julia Tkaczyk was named a second team all-stater. She helped lead the Tars to an unbeaten league slate, averaging 16.7 points per game with 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Lastly, among the honorable mentions, Dakota’s Brooklyn Garavaglia had a standout junior year with 14.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.5 steals per game, setting several program records with field goals made and attempted and percentage, along with charges taken in a game and season.
Chippewa Valley’s MyKenzi Harris averaged 14.5 points, 6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.5 steals per game en route to an all-state honorable mention.
Lastly, Stevenson’s Hannah Tamou was recognized despite the Titans’ rough season — the senior withstood constant double and triple teams to average 15.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.9 steals per game.
