The Bike Campaign is currently looking for two to six volunteer bike riders to train to participate in our Bike Skills Training program at Woodland elementary schools. It is exciting to help kids in the second and fifth grades learn how to ride bikes, many for the first time ever.

We use the balance-bike method for new riders, eliminating physical and emotional stress. In addition, our Ride Guides help kids learn street skills and the rules of the road. Participation is very rewarding, and once a month, the Bike Skills Training team volunteers are treated to lunch.

Like working on your own bike? The Bike Garage, located at the corner of Hayes and First Street near Douglass Middle School, needs you. Volunteer positions are available in Woodland on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. Even if all you can do is fix a flat, you’ll learn plenty more while helping families in our community to keep on rolling.
