Gayle Yaeko Hayashi 77 Union City Gayle passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 31st, 2025 at Stanford Hospital.

Gayle was born in Gardena, California. Gayle is a graduate of Long Beach State University with aB.S. inAnthropology. She marriedNormanHayashi in 1977 and moved to the Bay Area. She worked as a plant propagator in the Hayashi’s wholesale company.

Gayle’s hobbies and interests included various crafts, like making greeting cards for various occasions.

Gayle also loved to bake cakes and cookies!

Gayle is survived by her husband, Norman Hayashi, brothers Ken and Steve Taketomo, and sister-in-law Jan Taketomo. Gayle isalso survived by Hayashi family: Gerald, Pat, and sister-in-law Sandy, and sister-in-law Marilyn Hayashi-Penland, and brother-in-law Rodney.

Gayle also shared her life growing up with many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Sunset View Mortuary in El Cerrito on June 18that11am.
