Evelyn Richmond passed away on October 8 at the age of 93. She was born in Berlin and resided in California for 85 years. Evie’s family first lived in Los Angeles and a few years later her parents Gladys and Walter Herz purchased a home in Flintridge where Evie and her sister Margaret were raised. Evelyn graduated from Westridge School in Pasadena and then attended Scripps College and U C Davis. Evelyn enjoyed Tennis, horseback riding, skiing, flying lessons and travel. She met her husband , Edmund N. Richmond II (Ned) in golf class at the Claremont Colleges where Edmund attended what was then Claremont Men’s College. After a courtship, Evie and Ned were married in Flintridge in 1956. They first lived at Rancho de Los Esteros Ranch in Milpitas and later moved to Los Gatos. Their children Greg and DeEtte were both born at San Jose Hospital. In November of 1963, Ned, Evie and children embarked on an travel adventure through Europe and North Africa for a year. Back at home in Saratoga, Evie and Ned enjoyed time at home. Evie was very active and enjoyed gardening, she was very busy with daily life and home making. Eveiyn was a member of the Summit League, Town Club, as well as Eastfield. Later moving to the family Ranch in San Jose Evie, having recovered from a ankle injury was always ready for an adventure. Ranch life was never dull. Evie operated multiple vehicles from the ranch dump truck, flat bed, pickups etc. Evie and Ned enjoyed spending time at Lake Tahoe where they had many happy times with family and dear friends. Evie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.Evelyn and Edmund were married for 60 years. Edmund passed away in2016.

Evelyn is survived by her son Gregory Burnell (Marisa) and daughter DeEtte, her grandchildren, Aldyn Elizabeth Richmond, Tyler Gregory Richmond (Chelsey) , Natalie Sipos Lorente and Trevor Richmond Sipos and 4 great grandchildren: Elena, Marcos and Rafael Lorente and Ryder Richmond. A service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2024 at 10AM. Darling Fisher Garden Chapel 471 E. Santa Clara Lunch afterward
