Soul Garden Holistic Healing invited the community to join in on its 2nd-anniversary celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception earlier this week.

The store, located at 521 Main St., is a sanctuary for holistic well-being with a mission to “nurture one’s mind, body, and spirit, helping you flourish like a thriving garden of the soul.” Soul Garden offers holistic therapies and transformative workshops that help your holistic health journey.

The event was held in collaboration with the Woodland Chamber of Commerce.

The first 50 customers on the evening of Jan. 9 received an appreciation gift bag from the help of all vendors who were present at the event, like Norse Herb Company, Tarot by Aleeza, Sacred Soul Vibrations Sound Baths by Kim, Tina Marie, Psychic, and With Love Wax Co.

Store owner and crystal coach Corrie Taylor shared her appreciation for all the community and local vendors present on Thursday.

“Look at the turnout here. It’s absolutely fantastic, and like I said during the ribbon cutting, I just stand in gratitude for the community’s support and for all of the small businesses inside of here, and for all people who have come together that do classes here,” Taylor said. “Without the community that it’s building, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.”

Taylor was born and raised in Woodland, and both she and her mom served in the Chamber of Commerce. She shared entrepreneurship seemed to run in their family.‘It’s just kind of like a family tradition to be an entrepreneur and to be, just a solid part of the community and give back,” Taylor said.

She shares that she started her spiritual journey about 14 years ago after being in a wheelchair for two years and not being able to walk.

“It was actually a medicine person out of the Aztec culture that got me walking within three weeks when hospitals couldn’t, and I kind of begged him to take me on and teach me, and he did for seven years,” she shared. “And part of your you know, as you heal, your gifts start to come to light yourself, and part of mine is helping people with their mind and their mental health.”

Taylor went back to school in 2020 and graduated from UC Davis and wanted to find a way to give back using this new practice.

“Because everything has energy and the stones have energy,” Taylor explains. “It brought people in who were looking for help and so I got to do what I wanted to do with helping people with their minds and this brought them in.”

Taylor hopes to continue seeing more people come in and get involved with the store and classes that Soul Garden offers.

“I would love more people to come and get involved in doing other kinds of classes here, just being a supporter in the community, somewhere where people, if they’re hurting and they need help, can find a safe space. Just come down and join us,” Taylor says. “It doesn’t matter your belief system … we’re always here to help and be shining light in whichever direction that we can and we just are very grateful to be here.”
