Our attorney general, Jeff Sessions, thinks it is absurd to replace opioids with marijuana for pain relief. With over 60,000 people dying each year from opioid overdoses, it is not a logical choice. Last year, no one overdosed on marijuana. It is unfortunate that logic most likely will not prevail in the current administration.

All those renewing their driver’s license in Indiana are now required to present documents to the BMV proving that they are citizens and that all other information is current and bona fide. This is in order for their license to be renewed and meet the new federal requirements for a “Real ID.” We’ll see how all you folks like it who thought getting a voter ID card was just a piece of cake. Better get that passport renewed, if you even have one.

I’m not sure whether Paul Ryan wanted to destroy the social safety net before or after he used it to get through college, but it’s definitely been since the first time he picked up a copy of “Atlas Shrugged.” Ryan prays at the altar of Ayn Rand, who preached that compassion is weakness and taxation is theft. Rand, by the way, lived out her final years having her health care and living expenses paid by the public dole. The two are both hypocrites.

Once you jump on the hate train, you become derailed and can’t figure out how to make it stop.

Mitt Romney and Michelle Bachmann are both thinking about running for the Senate. I thought that failed presidential candidates were only allowed to take up knitting.

Someone needs to tell Trump that the top 10 percent wealthiest Americans own 80 percent of all stock shares. So the stock market going up doesn’t help most Americans. Half of Americans don’t own stock. It’s just rich people getting richer.

Dear Media: We believe you. We love you. We want you to keep reporting the facts. Yours truly, the general public.

If Trump gets credit for zero airline deaths, he should get credit for thousands of gun deaths too.

If business executives want fewer regulations, they could start by behaving in a way that makes them unnecessary. Regulations are always put into place because these business owners push their limits.

Regulations are enacted to curb egregious behavior of profit-driven businesses. Bernie Madoff is in prison because he violated laws enacted after a guy named Ponzi ripped everyone off. Is this the kind of thing everyone wants to return to?
