San Marin senior Catania Dekeyrel was undefeated in five bouts to claim the 147-pound bracket title at the fourth annual Lady Grizzly Classic on Saturday. She won a 16-3 major decision over Gregori senior Natalie Vergara in the final match of the day.

The Mustangs’ Yuritzi Sanchez Zapata (172) took second place after losing to Middletown’s Krystal Ocken in the final. San Marin teammate Gianna Robarge (237) went 2-2 to earn third place.

Terra Linda senior Olivia Zabierek (112) captured third place with a 17-4 major decision over Maria Carrillo’s Kate Gonzalas in the medal round. The Trojans’ Irene Stoilova (117) placed fourth.

Novato senior Mercedes Garcia (132) locked up fifth place as she pinned Casa Grande’s Zara Seidler in less than a minute. The Hornets’ Diana Garcia (172) placed sixth.

Girls soccer

Sarah Farese and Cora Champommier scored goals to lift Redwood to a 2-0 victory against University on Saturday. Farese assisted on Champommier’s goal and Teagan McCormick set up Farese’s goal. Evie Dickerson had the shutout in goal for Redwood (8-2-3).

Boys soccer

Tam and Marin Catholic battled each other to a 0-0 tie in a non-league contest on Saturday. The Wildcats (5-4-4) and Red-tailed Hawks (4-3-4) are set to close the regular-season campaign against each other on Feb. 6.

Women’s basketball

Dominican University overcame a slow start to defeat Biola, 67-44, Saturday afternoon behind a 22-point effort from Alaiyah San Juan. Mikayla Amoroso added 13 points and five rebounds for the Penguins (12-9, 6-4 PacWest), while Abigail Cooper finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Men’s basketball

Redshirt junior DM Sanders hit four 3-pointers during a 25-point day, but Dominican University fell to host Biola, 86-73, on Saturday. Sargent Jeffery added 18 points for the Penguins (8-10, 3-7 PacWest) and Omari Davis had 11.

Track and field

San Rafael’s Ellie McCuskey-Hay led the Marin WavesTrack Club with three gold medals in the girls high school division at Saturday’s Los Gatos Winter Championships qualifier. McCuskey-Hay won the 60-meter in 7.66 seconds and the 150 meter in 18.15 seconds. She also took second in the 300 (40.33). McCuskey-Hay won the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 1.5 inches as she qualified in all four events.

The Waves’ Grace Bramble won the triple jump at 34 feet and was fifth in the long jump at 16-6 to qualify in both events. Teammate Indeya Sanders was 11th in the 60 meter (8.39) and 12th in the 300 (43.74) to qualify in both events. The Waves’ Juno Phipps qualified in the 60 sprint (8.39) to qualify.
