Wilhelm Christian Tolvtvar, 85, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022. Wilhelm (Bill) was born in New York, New York, on June 12, 1936 to Arno and Alma Tolvtvar. He grew up on a family farm in Vineland, New Jersey with his parents and four siblings.
Bill served in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate onboard the USS Yorktown (CV-10) between 1953 and 1957. During those years, he met the love of his life, Lorelei Lindberg, at the USO. He was married on June 15, 1957, and began his married life in Hayward, California. He later moved to Pleasanton, California in 1972, and then moved to Rancho Cordova, California in 2012.
Bill had a life-long career as a commercial electrician in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 595.
Bill was the loving father to Daniel, Ronald, and Liane.
He was devoted to his family and loved celebrating special occasions and holidays with the family.
He also enjoyed tinkering in the garage and yard, and was an active volunteer for several organizations throughout his life. Perhaps most of all, he enjoyed dancing with his wife and singing to his favorite music.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Jenny Perry, Rudolph Tolvtvar, Jens Tolvtvar, and May Runde; his infant daughter Bernadine; and his wife Lorelei Tolvtvar. He is survived by sons Daniel (Roberta) Tolvtvar of Mountain Home, ID, and Ronald Tolvtvar of Jeffers, MN; daughter Liane (Russell) Sousa of Rancho Cordova, CA; grandsons Christopher (Sarah) Tolvtvar of Oakley, CA, Jason Tolvtvar of Littleton, CO, Matthew Sousa of Rancho Cordova, CA; granddaughter Nicole (Bryan) Costello of Winters, CA; four great-grandchildren and extended family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eskaton Lodge Gold River for making Bill’s last ten years safe, meaningful, and joyful. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
