Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art exhibit spotlights local farmers

BOULDER and LONGMONT >> The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, or BMoCA, is partnering with the Longmont Museum to host agriCULTURE: Art Inspired by the Land, a new exhibit that features Boulder County farms and farmers as subjects.

The “multi-venue exhibition includes works on view at the two museums and three local farms: the Agricultural Heritage Center in Longmont, Milk and Honey Farm at the Boulder Jewish Community Center and Ollin Farms in Longmont,” according to a BMoCA news release. “… BMoCA and the Longmont Museum commissioned artists to partner with farmers to create new works that shed light on the diverse practices of farmers along Colorado’s Front Range. Working together, the artists and farmers have developed projects that present innovative ways to address topical issues, from land rights to food access, cultural heritage, climate change and many others.”

Opening reception events will be held at BMoCA on June 8 and the Longmont Museum on June 9.

Private equity investor rejoins Noodles board

BROOMFIELD >> Noodles & Co. (Nasdaq: NDLS) has named Thomas Lynch, founder of private equity investor Mill Road Capital, to its board of directors.

Mill Road is one of the largest shareholders in Noodles, and Lynch previously served on the board between 2017 and 2019, the fast-casual restaurant chain said in a news release.

“As a major stockholder, I have been following the Noodles & Company story closely, and I continue to believe in the brand and its growth prospects,” Lynch said in the release. “I look forward to once again working closely with my fellow directors and management to help the company further define and execute its strategy.”

Biodesix exec tapped for Colorado BioScience Association board

BOULDER >> Robin Harper Cowie, Biodesix Inc. (Nasdaq: BDSX) chief financial officer, has been appointed to the Colorado BioScience Association board of directors.

Her “expertise will play a crucial role in driving the growth and development of Colorado’s thriving life sciences community,” the company said in a news release. “In joining the CBSA board, Harper Cowie will collaborate with fellow industry leaders to bolster the supportive ecosystem for life sciences companies throughout the state.”

Biodesix is a life-sciences company that specializes in developing tools to detect lung disease.

“Biodesix has established a culture of innovation and collaboration, and my appointment to the board presents an opportunity to work alongside other industry leaders in shaping the future of bioscience in our state,” Harper Cowie said in a prepared statement. “I am committed to helping ensure that Colorado remains a vibrant and innovative hub for life sciences companies to thrive and create meaningful impact in people’s lives.”
