Taryn Ellinthorpe allowed three hits over five innings and collected two of her own to drive in a pair as the San Marin High softball team defeated Pittsburg 9-1 on Friday. Ellinthorpe, Khylie Inthiratvongsy, and Taylor Testa all drove in two runs apiece for San Marin (8-4), which scored three times in the third and fifth innings to pull away.

• Eden Clark tossed a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and enjoyed a 4-for-4 day at the plate as Tam routed Mt. Diablo 19-0 on Friday. Elisa Cobb drove in three runs while Ava Lee, Christa Sasso, Hazel Walsh, and Clark drove in two apiece. Tam scored nine runs in the second inning to go up 11-0.

Boys tennis

Terra Linda and rival San Rafael split singles play with two wins each, but the Trojans won the match 4-3 with a doubles win on the court and a default by the Bulldogs on Friday.

Aryaveer Singh and Bhuvan Medidi gave the Trojans wins at No. 2 and 3 singles, and the duo of Julian Fiore and Esteban Ruiz won at No. 2 doubles. San Rafael got wins from Forrest Reilly at No. 1 singles and Avi Levine at No. 4 singles.

Boys track and field

Tam High sophomore Streeter Holt was on a hit streak Thursday with personal bests in the 100 and 200 meter events to lead the field. Holt won the 100 in 11.66 seconds and the 200 in 24.24 seconds, and was also part of Tam’s winning 4×100 relay team. The Red-tailed Hawks won all the events but one in the home meet with Branson and San Rafael.

The Red-tailed Hawks also got wins from junior Lucas Ruark in both the 1600 (4:31.77) and 3200 (10:40.25), and senior Shea Sorcher in both the 110 hurdles (16.33) and 300 hurdles (41.22). The Hawks’ David Keane won the shot put (34 feet, 11.5 inches) and the discus (80’7”), while Tam senior Thomas Bartram won the long jump (19’1.25”) and triple jump (38’9.75”).

San Rafael’s Teo Cristea broke up Tam’s sweep with his win in the 800 with personal-best 2:04.81.

• Archie Williams’ runners and San Marin’s throwers were both in the spotlight in Thursday’s meet with Novato. The Peregrine Falcons’ Singh Devin set PRs to win the 100 (11.62) and 200 (23.85), and was part of the winning 4×100 relay team with Khayree Mitchell, Ezra Thaler and Dillon Parsons. Archie Williams’ Nick Ferguson won the 110 hurdles (17.28) and 300 hurdles (44.43).

San Marin’s Trenton Jepma won the shot put with a PR of 41’1” and earned victories in the discus (169’11”) and triple jump (39’10”). Senior Cody Urban won the high jump (5’6”) and long jump (20’4”) as the mustangs swept the field events. San Marin junior Justin Catanach won the 800 (2:02.26).

Girls track and field

Tam High’s Johanna Friedrichsdorf set a personal-best to win the 200 meter event, one of four wins for the sophomore on Thursday in a home meet against Branson and San Rafael. Friedrichsdorf won the 200 in 26.84 seconds and the 400 in 59.46 seconds. She was also part of Tam’s winning 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams.

Tam senior Natalie Popper won the 100 hurdles (17.92) and 300 hurdles (52.14). The Red-tailed Hawks’ Beatrix Littler earned wins in the long jump (15’2.25”) and triple jump (31’5”).

Branson sophomore Lily Gross set new personal bests in each of her three wins in the shot put (24’9”), discus (56’8”) and high jump (4’6”).

• San Marin senior Sicily Grasso set the pace with a pair of wins in Thursday’s home meet with Archie Williams and Novato. Grasso won the 100 (12.57) and 200 (26.04), while Archie Williams runners won the 400, 800, 1600 and 3200. Novato’s Emerson Erving won the 300 hurdles (51.63).
