Kiana Safari, Aviana Andrew, Coral Collins and Isabella Calderon earned singles wins in straight sets, and Aptos High’s girls tennis team beat Santa Cruz 7-0 to remain unbeaten in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play on Wednesday.

Safari beat Francesca Gares 6-2, 6-0; Andrews beat Louisiana Ellis 6-0, 6-0; Collins beat Maddie McGrath 6-1, 6-0; and Calderon beat Julia Kennedy 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles action, Natalia Calderon and Charlotte Long, Aracely Ritchie and Gia Arista, and Neci Hoeptner and Julia Blevins earned doubles wins in straight sets.

Aptos (6-3, 5-0) plays at San Lorenzo Valley on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Scotts Valley 7, at SLV 0 >> The Falcons won two singles matches in straight sets and swept all three doubles matches in their SCCAL win Wednesday.

The short-handed Cougars forfeited two singles matches.Sofia Niklaus defeated Kaitlyn Houston 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and senior Erin Szymanski beat Sofia Diaz 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.

Maya Wexler and Montserrat Burgos won a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) marathon over Abi Krepella and Claire Hamilton at No. 1 double. Dillon Fiorita and Georgia Chetcuti, and Isabella Padilla and Raquel Sullivan didn’t lose a game in their doubles wins.

Scotts Valley (5-2, 4-1) plays Santa Cruz on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Girls volleyball

Scotts Valley 3, Mount Madonna 0 >> Junior outside hitter Rylee Giesen made 13 kills, and the Falcons won their SCCAL match 25-22, 25-13, 25-13 on Wednesday.

Junior outside hitter Hayden Smith had four kills and two aces for the Falcons, and sophomore opposite Zoë Norris had two kills and three aces.

Scotts Valley (13-6, 4-3) hosts Soquel (11-9, 6-2) on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

St. Francis 3, North Salinas 0 >> Junior outside hitters Peyton Orradre and Madison Silva each had nine kills, and the Sharks earned a 25-20, 25-21, 25-22 sweep on Wednesday. Orradre also served four aces.

Junior setter Julie Lopez had 14 assist and four kills for the Sharks, and junior setter Georgia Otzman had 13 assists and four aces. Senior middle blocker Delaney Fowler had five aces and five kills, and junior libeiro Mia McClendon made 11 digs.

St. Francis (12-7, 4-4) hosts PCS on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Girls flag football

Scotts Valey 19, Soquel 12 >> Jazzy Phillips threw three touchdowns passes, and the Falcons rallied from a 12-0 deficit to secure the SCCAL win Wednesday.

Taylor Wilson hauled in the game winning touchdown pass. Brooklyn Williams made two touchdown receptions for the Falcons (4-2).

Scotts Valley’s Claire Skinner made three sacks, blocked four passes and pulled six flags. Jazzy Doubek made two sacks, blocked two passes and made four flag pulls.

Aptos 39, Harbor 0 >> Junior quarterback Ella Porter was 5-of-7 passing for 79 yards and three touchdowns in the Mariners’ SCCAL win Wednesday.

Porter completed a 26-yard pass and an 8-yard pass to sophomore Ellie Marta for touchdowns. Junior Julia Silviera hauled in a 37-yard touchdown reception.

Senior Izzy Graff rushed for 87 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown. Freshman Myla Appleby ran for a 60-yard touchdown.

Freshman Victoria Macias returned an interception for a touchdown. Senior Mia Sanchez, and freshmen Jane Parry and Caylie Ashton also recorded interceptions also recorded interceptions.

Aptos (11-5, 6-0) plays at King City on Saturday.

Santa Cruz 40, SLV 7 >> Makayla Norman threw four touchdown passes and Dahlia Montesinos threw two in the Cardinals’ SCCAL win Wednesday.

Nadia Delgadillo scored three times for Santa Cruz. Alba Puig made a touchdown catch and an interception. Emunah Minami and Ben Sommerville each scored a touchdown and extra point. Malia Cooper had two extra points caught.

Watsonville 30, at Monterey 6 >> Fernanda Lazo passed for three touchdown and 205 yards and also had a touchdown reception in the Wildcatz win Wednesday.

Laso completed scoring passes to Aliah Anaya, Monique De La Mora, and Brianna Leon.

Isa Alvarez rushed for 135 yards and touchdown, and made an interception.

Stephanie Martinez threw a scoring pass to Lazo.

Leon made two interceptions on defense. Naomi Alvarez made six flag pulls.

Men’s water polo

Cabrillo 10, San Mateo 5 >> Nolan Nguyen scored four goals, and the Seahawks won their match Wednesday.

Aiden Howard and Brandon Smith each scored twice for Cabrillo. Sam Primavera and Pedro Leal each added a goal.

Goalie Ben Duarte made eight saves.
