



Shohei Ohtani pitched one hitless inning in his second mound start of the season before hitting a three-run triple and a two-run homer, and Max Muncy had a grand slam and a three-run homer in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 13-7 home victory over the Washington Nationals on Sunday.
Ohtani recorded two strikeouts while throwing 18 pitches, allowing his only baserunner on an error when Mookie Betts dropped a popup.
Ohtani cleared the bases with a drive into the right field corner during the Dodgers’ seven-run seventh, and he added his 26th homer in the eighth to make it 13-3.
The Dodgers trailed 3-0 in the sixth when Muncy delivered his seventh career grand slam. Muncy then hit a three-run shot off Cole Henry in the seventh for his 18th multi-homer game.
Nathaniel Lowe hit a three-run homer and Michael Soroka struck out a career-high 10 while pitching two-hit ball into the sixth for the Nats.
Guardians 3, Athletics 0: Slade Cecconi pitched a career-high seven innings and Emmanuel Clase escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth to lead visiting Cleveland over the Athletics.
Cecconi (3-3) allowed six hits and a walk in his seventh start for Cleveland after making 17 for Arizona over the previous two seasons. Clase gave up a walk and singles to Tyler Soderstrom and JJ Bleday to load the bases before finishing for his second straight save and 18th in 21 opportunities.
Phillies 7, Mets 1: Kyle Schwarber and Edmundo Sosa homered, Jesús Luzardo tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings and host Philadelphia regained sole possession of first place in the NL East with a victory over New York.
Francisco Lindor homered late for the Mets, who have lost eight of nine.
Luzardo (7-3) allowed three hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.
Padres 3, Royals 2: Jose Iglesias tied the game with two-run, two-out, bases-loaded pinch-hit single in the seventh inning and then drove in the winning run with a grounder in the bottom of the ninth as San Diego beat Kansas City.
Mariners 14, Cubs 6: Donovan Solano homered twice and drove in five runs, helping Seattle outslug Chicago at Wrigley Field.
Cal Raleigh hit his major league-leading 31st homer for Seattle which alsogot two homers from Dominic Canzone.
Seiya Suzuki homered twice and drove in three runs for the Cubs.
Yankees 4, Orioles 2: Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a go-ahead, two-run double off the right-center field wall in a three-run eighth inning, leading New York over Baltimore at Yankee Stadium.
