Labor Day weekend is almost at hand.

And while that means a three-day weeked for most, it also means a lot of government offices and services will be closed.

In observance of the federal holiday, government offices, the Long Beach Civic Center and libraries are among the facilities that will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2.

In Long Beach, commercial services at City Hall, including cashiering/payment processings, utility customer service, billing and collections and parking citations, will be closed. The city is encouraging the public to take advantage of its online resources available on its website.

Parking meters and violations will be enforced on Monday, Sept. 2, unless the meter states “Exempt on holidays.” Towing operations and vehicle storage facilities will be closed on Monday.

Street sweeping will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Refuse and recycling, however, will continue as scheduled on Monday.

Long Beach public libraries and services will be closed from Saturday to Monday, Sept. 2.

Here’s what will be open during regular business hours on Monday:

• All city parks and trails (excluding El Dorado Nature Center).

• El Dorado Regional Park.

• Fire stations and lifeguard stations.

• Long Beach Airport.

• Main police station front desk.

• Marina offices (Alamitos Bay Marina, Shoreline Marina).

• Gas services dispatch (562-570-2140) open 24/7 for emergency calls.

• Water/sewer dispatch (562-570-2390) open 24/7 for emergency calls.

Here’s what will be closed on Monday:

• Billie Jean King Main Library and all branch libraries.

• BizCare hotline (562-570-4BIZ).

• Building and safety services, including the Permit Center, inspections and plan reviews.

• City Hall.

• City-operated pools.

• City prosecutor’s office.

• Code enforcement services.

• El Dorado Nature Center (regularly closed Mondays).

• Energy resources offices.

• Fire headquarters, support services, and fire prevention and operations, including Marine Safety Administration.

• Health department and health facilities.

• Homeless services outreach line (562-570-4672).

• Housing authority.

• LB resource hotline (562-570-4246).

• Long Beach Airport administration offices.

• Long Beach animal care Services and spcaLA (regularly closed Mondays).

• Long Beach utilities offices.
