Boulder Panthers
Coach: Dustin Fonseca
Last year’s result: Did not qualify for the Class 5A state tournament.
Testing 1-2-3: “This year, we are still rebuilding the program and getting back on track to bring Boulder High back to an expected level of competition,” the second-year coach said.
The tea: The Panthers are led by seniors Mek Bass and Kate Thompson, who can both shoot under 100. They’re accompanied on the top team by juniors Alexis Faust and Juliette Verson. The second-year coach said they have 12 returning players and eight new to the program this spring.
Erie Tigers
Coach: Brandon Bird
Last year’s result: Won the Class 4A state title; Logan Hale won the individual title.
Testing 1-2-3: Bird’s eighth year ahead of the program will also be his last. The golf coach and voice of the Tigers is headed to Berthoud to become its athletic director, he said.
The tea: The Tigers don’t return any of the four players who led them to their third straight 4A state title last spring, including back-to-back individual champ Hale and 2022 champ Hadley Ashton. Kenna Miller, a senior, will be in the hunt for a 5A state tournament berth. Bird said he has seven or eight players in the mix for the team’s top four varsity spots.
Fairview Knights
Coach: John Zerwin
Last year’s result: Grad Ava Hickey finished 17th as the team’s lone 5A state qualifier.
Testing 1-2-3: The Knights graduated 20 players from a team that finished fifth in the Front Range League and seventh at regionals. This season, they’re starting play in the Granite Peaks League.
The tea: Eme Hickey, a sophomore, returns for the Knights. Her sister Ava was a four-time state qualifier. Eme will now look to forge her own legacy. “We are looking forward to seeing how she and all of the other ladies develop over the next two months,” their 16th-year coach said.
Legacy Lightning
Coach: Bobby Ortega
Last season’s result: Finished eighth as a team at the state tournament with three state qualifiers; placed third in the Front Range League
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Jessica Chhour is the top returning state qualifier after placing 36th at last year’s meet.
The tea: Ortega said the team’s expectation is to stay competitive in the Granite Peaks League while sending a few girls to state this year. Behind Chhour, senior Anjali Hagner comes back after her 39th-place mark at state last year.

Kim was 56th and Chenoweth was 75th. The 4A state tournament will take place on their home course, Broadlands Golf Course, this spring. The 11th-year coach said he hopes they can qualify a full team of four players for it.
Centaurus Warriors
Coach: Kevin Ratzlaff
Last year’s result: Did not qualify for the 4A state tournament.
Testing 1-2-3: Larissa Vann, a junior, is expected to make a big jump from last season, per her coach. “Averaging over 120 last year, (she) should shoot under 100 this season,” Ratzlaff said.
The tea: The Warriors are led by senior Elyse Curtin, Vann and freshman Saija Avery. All of them, the program’s second-year coach said, should be able to shoot under 100. “This is the second season in a big rebuild for this program,” Ratzlaff said. “First time in four years the team has had a full JV and varsity roster.”
Frederick Golden Eagles
Coach: Chris DeSantis
Last year’s result: Grad Makayla Miller finished 41st as the team’s lone state qualifier in 4A.
Testing 1-2-3: Danica Dennis, a senior, leads the Golden Eagles this spring. Coach DeSantis, who is in his eighth season ahead of the program, said she shoots in the low 90s.
The tea: If Dennis can stay consistent with scores around the 90s, she should have a good chance at making the state tournament. She’ll be accompanied by juniors Lila Marsolek, Keely McCurdy and Elaina Thorpe. The Golden Eagles finished fourth in the Longs Peak League last year.
Longmont Trojans
Coach: Matt Engelking
Last season’s result: No state qualifiers
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Annika Van Dorn finished 31st at 4A Region 3 last year, and fellow senior Kaitlyn Murphy wasn’t too far behind at 55th.

Monarch Coyotes
Coach: Geoff Findley
Last season’s result: Finished in the top third of the Front Range League and sent three golfers to the state tournament.
Testing 1-2-3: Junior Pippa Cooper qualified for state as a freshman, then attended IMG Academy Golf Club in Florida for a year before making her return. She’ll likewise be coming back from a recent wrist surgery.
The tea: The Coyotes return a strong and dedicated core of players with Cooper and last year’s state qualifiers, senior captain Grasyn Trobaugh and junior Malone Schaefer. Findley hopes their work at the Golf Life Center in Broomfield will pay dividends on the links this year.

Last season’s result: Qualified three for state and finished seventh as a team; placed fifth at 4A Region 3.
Testing 1-2-3: Wendy Cheruiyot, now a sophomore, placed 13th at the state meet as a freshman.

Testing 1-2-3: Redding said that senior Izzy Magliocca has been on the team all four years, and he “hopes to see her continue to grow throughout her senior year.”

Skyline Falcons
Coach: Alexandra Grubbs
Last season’s result: No state qualifiers.
Testing 1-2-3: Assistant coach Leslie Brown looks for senior Breanne Baker “to have her best season yet. She is also a great leader for our younger athletes who are new to the sport, helping to guide and support them as they develop their skills.”
The tea: Brown said that the team made significant strides in team performance and individual skills, and believes the girls can push themselves to higher levels. She hopes that with Baker, sophomore Colbie Hanson and senior Hailey Weathers, the Falcons can build a strong foundation for the future.

Holy Family Tigers
Coach: Heikke Nielsen

The tea: Junior Steffi Heitz led the Tigers at the 4A state tournament, finishing 10th. Sophomores Acadia Curtis and Danikka Nielsen were 11th and 25th. Senior Fiona Holmes was 30th. As they move from 4A to 3A this spring, the Tigers should be among the few favorites to win it all. They’ve never won a girls golf team title, finishing runner-up in 2024 and 2017.

Last season’s result: No state qualifiers.
Testing 1-2-3: Junior German foreign exchange student, Nuria Getta, is excited to join an American team after playing golf for most of her life.

Testing 1-2-3: Porreco takes over as head coach, the program’s third in as many years.
The tea: Danforth will look to crack the top 10 at the 2A state tournament this spring. She shot in the mid 80s at the tournament at the Olde Course at Loveland last year as a freshman in 3A, finishing 13th. Her coach said she shoots in the 70s and low 80s.
Peak to Peak Pumas

Last season’s result: Finished fifth at the 3A state tournament after qualifying the full team.
Testing 1-2-3: Rihana Bhandari serves as the team’s top returner after her 19th-place finish at state last year, just one stroke behind her senior teammate and leader, Kaylee Craig.
The tea: Bhandari is already off to a hot start this year after placing fifth at the first Metro League tournament with 82 strokes, and senior Shriya Sharma didn’t lag too far behind at 12th (90). Both serve as the lone returners from the state qualifying team, and are joined at the top of the ticket by junior Pranavi Mantha.

Last season’s result: Class 3A state champions.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior and University of Montana commit Hope Torres won the 3A state tournament as a junior and returns for a similar shot in the new 2A classification.
