Kait Christensen and Makaila Eller drove in two runs apiece as the Redwood High softball team opened MCAL play with a 10-4 victory against Marin Catholic on Tuesday.

Redwood (4-5, 1-0 MCAL) seized control of the game with a six-run second inning. Ashley Ball had three hits and Eller added two.

Stella Belluomini pitched four innings and Lily Cox pitched three, combining to allow six hits and no earned runs while striking out seven.

Selena Peña had a pair of hits for MC (2-2, 0-1).

• Ava Lee allowed one hit and a had a two-run home run to lift Tam to a 7-0 victory against Novato on Tuesday.

Lee pitched seven innings, striking out 13 and issuing six walks for Tam (4-0, 1-0). Zoe Pletcher, Annica Harris and Delphine McGrane had two hits apiece for Tam. Harris, Lee, and Eden Clark all drove in two runs against Novato (2-6, 0-2).

• Taylor Testa pitched all seven innings for San Marin, outdueling Thomara Drummer and San Rafael 2-1 on Monday night. Testa delivered the biggest hit of the game with an RBI triple to tie the score at 1-1 in the third. San Marin went in front 2-1 on an RBI groundout by Savannah Reynolds in the fifth. Testa and Lauren Fong had two hits apiece for the Mustangs (3-1, 1-0). Sophia Everett had two hits for San Rafael (1-5, 0-1). Drummer had an RBI groundout in the first inning, scoring Everett for the Bulldogs’ only run. Drummer went six innings with five hits and two earned runs against 10 strikeouts.

College softball

Taylor Rodriguez homered and limited Chaminade to three hits on Tuesday, leading Dominican University to a 4-1 victory on Tuesday.

Rodriguez, also also limited Chaminade to three hits and homered on Monday, improved to 8-2 on the season. Rodriguez had two hits, two RBIs, and scored twice. Leslie Ruiz had two hits and drove in a run.

Prep baseball

Dylan Thorpe hit a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Lachlan Royston with the winning run as San Rafael pulled out a 3-2 victory over crosstown rival Terra Linda on Tuesday. Colby Jackson and Sebi Chick combined to limit TL to seven hits and one earned run across nine innings. Both pitchers also drove in a run for the Bulldogs (5-5, 3-2). Brody Daganis had three hits for TL (2-4, 0-3).

• Tam scored early and often, rolling to a 17-7 victory against Marin Catholic on Tuesday. The Red-tailed Hawks (7-2, 3-0) scored four times in the first, 10 times in the second, and three times in the third to race out to a 17-3 lead against MC (5-3, 3-2). Henry Stoll drove in four runs for Tam while Ryan Simon drove in three. Maxwell Fiek reached base four times with two hits and two walks, driving in two runs and scoring four times.

• Jake Post tossed 4.2 innings of scoreless reliefs as Redwood defeated Archie Williams 5-3 on Tuesday. Both teams scored three runs in the first inning but Post limited the Peregrine Falcons (1-6, 1-4) to three hits to get Redwood (3-3-1, 3-2) into the seventh inning. Jack Moseley had two hits and two RBIs to pace the Giants. Tyler Beck added two hits, an RBI and scored a run. Jake Barnes has two hits for Archie Williams and Joey Altman had two RBIs.

Boys tennis

Will Young won a marathon first set at No. 1 singles to lead Marin Academy to a 5-2 victory against Marin Catholic in a match that begin on March 5 but was suspended due to darkness and completed Tuesday. Young prevailed 7-6 (17), 6-4 against MC’s Jack Millar.

• Fin Donnelley and Teo Donnelley won matches at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, to lead Archie Williams to a 5-2 win over Terra Linda on Tuesday. Bhuvan Medidi (No. 3 singles) and Julian Fiore/Owen Onstott (No. 2 doubles) picked up wins for TL in in a third-set tiebreaks.

• Chase Hoeveler and Ishwar Jayaraman won matches atop the singles ladder to lead Branson to a 6-1 victory against Tam on Tuesday. Finn Higgins and Ryder Teagle won the other two singles matches for the Bulls. Witt Bulger and Sam Zail took the win for Tam at No. 1 doubles.

Boys golf

Theo Anderson shot a 34 and Bodie Ransom carded a 37 as Marin Catholic picked up a pair of wins Tuesday — 188-250 over Terra Linda and 188-190 against Redwood. Brody Root shot a 37 for Redwood, which prevailed in its match against TL. A trio of Giants — Jack Mount, Beckman Watrous, and Jack Caldwell — all carded 38s. Matthew Nelson paced TL with a 47.
