Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats says he has been dealing with a health issue that has affected his ability to perform.
In a recent social media post, the musician, 65, shared that he is no longer able to play the guitar.
“Towards the end of the last Stray Cats tour I noticed that my hands were cramping up,” Setzer wrote. “I’ve since discovered that I have an auto-immune disease. I cannot play guitar. There is no pain, but it feels like I am wearing a pair of gloves when I try to play.”
Setzer shared that he has “seen some progress” with treatment at the Mayo Clinic, regaining the ability to hold a pen and tie his shoes.
“I know this sounds ridiculous, but I was at a point where I couldn’t even do that,” he said.
Setzer has not shared what type of autoimmune disease he is battling.
Paul Simon abandoning retirement plans to tour
Those who were excited to see Paul Simon singing a duet onstage with Sabrina Carpenter on “SNL50” will be pleased to know his performing days are not behind him after all.
On Tuesday, Simon announced via social media that he is heading out on the Quiet Celebration Tour. Tickets go on sale Friday on his website.
The tour will kick off April 4 in New Orleans and end Aug. 3 in Seattle.
Simon, who has lost most of his hearing in his left ear, was set to retire in 2018 after what he said at the time was his farewell tour.
Guy Pearce says he was ‘targeted’ by Kevin Spacey
Guy Pearce is opening up about his troubling experiences with Kevin Spacey while they were filming “L.A. Confidential” and the “wake-up call” that he was “targeted” by the actor, whose mainstream success took a backseat amid allegations of sexual assault and harassment.
During a recent appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast, Pearce says he spent “five months” dismissing Spacey’s alleged advances as “nothing” as they worked on the 1997 neo-noir.
“I was sort of scared of Kevin because he’s quite an aggressive man,” said the Oscar-nominated “Brutalist” star, now 57. “I was young and susceptible, and he targeted me, no question.
“I was certainly not a victim by any means to the extent that other people have been to sexual predators,” Pearce said, but added that “the only days” he felt safe were the days when actor Simon Baker was also on set. At that point, Pearce would be “dumped like a hot potato” as Spacey focused on the “ten times prettier” Aussie.
In 2023, Spacey was acquitted of all sexual counts in a London trial.
