Firefighters putting out a blaze at a San Marino house on Monday morning found a woman’s body inside.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives are assisting San Marino police with the investigation into the woman’s death.

The house fire, in the 2000 block of Lorain Road, was reported around 9:45 a.m.

Arriving firefighters saw smoke coming from the back, San Marino fire Chief Mario Rueda said. It took about 15 minutes to put out the fire.

The medical examiner’s office had not yet publicly identified the woman.
