Aaron Judge had four hits to get his average back above .400 and Ben Rice hit a grand slam to lead the New York Yankees to a 12-2 victory over the Athletics on Sunday in West Sacramento.

Judge hit a two-run single in a five-run second inning against former teammate Luis Severino (1-4) and added hits in his final three at-bats to raise his average on the season to .409.

The Yankees broke the game open in the fifth inning when Rice hit his first career grand slam after Mitch Spence had relieved an ineffective Severino.

Cardinals 6, Nationals 1: Lars Nootbaar, Willson Contreras and Nolan Arenado homered, and St. Louis won at Washington to complete a three-game sweep ancd extend its winning streak to eight games, its longest since August of 2022.

Miles Mikolas (2-2) allowed one run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings with five strikeouts and a walk.

Rockies 9, Padres 3: Hunter Goodman hit a double, a triple and a home run and had five RBIs to help Colorado defeat San Diego and snap an eight-game losing streak.

Germán Márquez (1-6) pitched seven innings and gave up a run on three hits.

Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 1: Tony Gonsolin pitched five scoreless innings and Freddie Freeman homered on a 4-for-4 day to lead first-place Los Angeles to a road victory over Arizona.

Mookie Betts also went deep for the Dodgers, who had 18 hits and salvaged a four-game split with their National League West rivals.

Gonsolin (2-0), out of Saint Mary’s, was making his third start after missing all of 2024 following Tommy John surgery.

Mets 6, Cubs 2: Francisco Lindor hit a go-ahead homer to start a four-run eighth inning and New York won at home over Chicago in the clash of division leaders.

Lindor snapped a 2-2 tie against Porter Hodge (2-1) with a drive over the right-center field fence.

Rangers 6, Tigers 1: Nathan Eovaldi tossed seven shutout innings, Marcus Semien and Josh Jung hit two-run home runs and Texas won at Detroit.

Eovaldi (4-2) limited the Tigers to two hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Astros 6, Reds 0: Ronel Blanco struck out 11 in eight innings and Shawn Dubin completed the two-hitter as host Houston beat Cincinnati.

Yainer Diaz hit a three-run homer in the third to give Houston an early lead.

Pirates 4, Braves 3: Joey Bart had three hits, including the game-winning infield single in the bottom of the ninth as Pittsburgh beat Atlanta.

Pinch-hitter Sean Murphy pulled the Braves into a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning when he lined a three-run double to left-center with two out.
