No. 21 Michigan State routs No. 24 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich.>> Theryn Hallock scored 23 of her 25 points in the second half, Julia Ayrault had a double-double and No. 21 Michigan State rolled past No. 24 Michigan 88-58 on Saturday.

The Spartans outscored the Wolverines 59-25 in the second half, making a rout out of the first matchup between the rivals in which both teams were ranked.

No. 6 UConn 72, Creighton 61>> Sarah Strong had her fifth double-double of the season with 26 points and 12 rebounds, Paige Bueckers scored 19 of her 22 points in the second half, and No. 6 UConn beat Creighton in a battle for the Big East lead.

The game was moved from the Bluejays’ 3,000-seat on-campus arena to the 18,000-seat CHI Health Center. The attendance of 11,141 was a school record.

Colorado State 61, Wyoming 56>> Colorado State made just enough stops on the defensive end to hold off a comeback from Wyoming in a rivalry game in Laramie.

The Rams were led in scoring by Emma Ronsiek, who poured in 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor. The Mountain West Preseason Co-Player of the Year surpassed a major career milestone during the game as she scored her 2,000th career point with a turnaround-jumper in the third quarter.

St. Thomas 78, Denver 65>> Jordan Jones tied her career-high with 30 points, but the Pioneers fell to the St. Thomas Tommies in St. Paul, Minn.

Jones led DU with 30 points and two steals. Emma Smith also tacked on three points, four assists and two steals and Angelina Robles chipped in as well with six points.

Northern Colorado 66, Eastern Washington 57>> Eleven UNC players scored at least two points against Eastern Washington, snapping the Bears’ three-game losing streak in the Big Sky Conference with a 66-57 win in Greeley.

Starting forward Ella Van Weelden led UNC with 12 points in a team-high 33 minutes played.

Nevada 62, Air Force 59>> In a contest that was single-digits most of the afternoon, the Falcons came up short, falling to the Wolf Pack 62-59 in Reno, Nev.

Sophomore Keelie O’Hollaren, getting her fifth career start to fill in for an injured Alexis Cortez, led all scoring with 22 points.
