Other wildfires continued to burn across the Inland Empire on Tuesday but fire officials reported progress with containment:
The Wolf fire: As of Tuesday afternoon, the fire had burned 2,414 acres and was 35% contained. Firefighters continued to work on establishing containment lines and faced challenges as the fire burned in steep terrain with winds and low humidity, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The Wolf fire broke out Sunday in the area of Old Banning Idyllwild Road and Wolfskill Truck Trail in Banning. Evacuation orders and warnings remained in place.
The Mindy fire: The fire, which also broke out Sunday in Riverside County, was 90% contained as of Tuesday and had burned 109 acres. Evacuation orders and warnings were lifted earlier in the week once firefighters established containment on the fire, which burned in the unincorporated community of Aguanga.
The Cable fire: The fire broke out Sunday in the 1500 block of Martin Ranch Road in San Bernardino and was at 50% containment and 19 acres, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters had stopped forward progress of the blaze. One firefighter suffered a minor heat-related injury and was released from the hospital.
