85 years Resident of San Jose Marjorie Houston passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024.

She was born in Miami, Florida where she grew up and graduated from college, earning her teacher credential.

After college Marj taught children of the US Armed Services personnel in Germany. While there in 1977, she met and married John Houston, her husband of 45 years.

Returning to the US in 1978, they settled in San Jose California to be near family and begin anew life. During the 1980s they lived in Saudi Arabia while John was employed with ARAMCO.

They returned to San Jose where Marj taught ESL classes and kept busy with interesting part time positions like teaching people at bank drive up windows how to use the new ATM cards.

Marj and John loved to travel. Their passports were filled with stamps and memories from around the world.

John predeceased Marj in 2021 and her cat, Saki, became her constant companion.

Marj will be remembered lovingly for her intelligence, sense of fun, and kind and generous spirit. A Celebration of Life will be held by family. Donations can be made in her name to the Diabetes Foundation and Pet Friends and Rescue in Hollister, California.
