Died peacefully on May 5, 2025, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born October 28, 1942, in Plainwell, Michigan, the fourth of five children. He graduated from Plainwell High School in 1961.
He studied Electrical Engineering for three years at Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana. Then he was in the Army from 1965-67, serving as a cryptographer in the Panama Canal Zone.
A man of many interests, Roger ultimately earned his bachelor’s degree in Adolescent Psychology at the University of Minnesota.
Roger worked in a group family foster home for 10 years, and then as a Mental Health Counselor with mentally ill adults in different facilities around the Twin Cities. In 1985, he began working at Peterka House, where he served as Program Director until retiring in 2008.
