BOULDER COUNTY

Have your say about future state transit plans

You can ask Colorado Department of Transportation representatives about transit projects around the region and the state at an online event set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21.

In Boulder County, representatives from the state Department of Transportation are heading up the $165 million Colo. 119 Safety, Mobility and Bikeway construction between Boulder and Longmont. Funding for that project comes from a variety of sources.

The department also works on transit items such as Interstate 25 and Interstate 70 express lanes and shuttle services, among other things.

Betasso Preserve trail area set for temporary closure

Boulder County Parks and Open Space officials plan to close a trail along Fourmile Link at Betasso Preserve, which is west of Boulder, to do upgrades, starting May 5, according to a news release.

Residents will be unable to access the trailhead from Fourmile Canyon Drive, but other areas of the open space area will remain open.

The project is expected to last four to six weeks.

Crews will replace timber steps, and they’ll use heavy equipment, according to the release.
