Riverside’s “25 Most Remarkable Teens” have been named for this year.

Each year, the city chooses students from eighth through 12th grade for the honor.

The Riverside Youth Council, a program run in a partnership between the mayor’s office and the Riverside Police Department, organizes the effort and choose the students.

The teens are saluted for their “excellence in academics, athletics, arts and culture, community involvement, leadership, courage to overcome, acts of valor or any other remarkable accomplishments,” a Riverside news release states.

The teens were recognized at the May 6 Riverside City Council meeting.
