A man from Superior was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing and distributing sexually exploitative material of a child.
Gabriel Aaron McMartin, 19, is facing three counts of sexual exploitation of a child — distribution and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child — possession. The charges range from Class 3 to Class 5 felonies.
According to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, dozens of sexually exploitative files of a child were found after McMartin’s electronic devices were seized during a search warrant served on Oct. 18 at McMartin’s home in the 500 block of Briggs Place.
The investigation began after the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip about the distribution of sexually exploitative material of a child from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
McMartin was released on a $20,000 personal recognizance bond following a hearing Wednesday. He is due back in court on Tuesday for a formal filing of charges.
Multiple agencies assisted this the investigation, including Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, the Boulder Police Department, the Longmont Department of Public Safety, and the Boulder County SWAT Team.
