Resident of Lafayette, CA

 Paul Dana Thomas was born on August 3, 1940, in Oakland, CA to Paul Dana Thomas, Sr and Ruth Hinold Johnson.

Paul attended Oakland High School, Laney College, and San Francisco State University. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane, in 1962.

Paul worked as an electronic engineer his whole career and retired from Teradyne in 2001. Paul was anavid cyclist, often riding his bike to work as well as enjoying over 75,000 miles traveling the U.S and Canada on atandem bike with Diane. He had a lifelong love of photography and high-end audio often entertaining family and friends with slide shows of he and Diane’s adventures together and a wide selection of music on his impressive stereo system. Later in life, Paul and Diane traded the tandem for many cruise ship adventures.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter, Kathy Nydam (Randy); daughter-in-law Pati Thomas; grandchildren Marcus and Chris Thomas (Chantell), and Cory and Samantha Nydam. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Diana Landis, and son Dana.

He will be interned at The Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025 at 2:00 at The Greenery Restaurant in Walnut Creek, CA.
