It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia “Ginny” Ann Wilkinson on February 22, 2025. Ginny was born on July 25, 1944 in Hayward, CA. Ginny graduated from Hayward High in 1962. The year after high school she met the love of her life, George Wilkinson, through friends and dancing and they married on November 10, 1963. In 1967, Mitch was born. Mishelle followed shortly after in 1969. In their early married years, they enjoyed the Ski Dolphins Club where they camped and waterskied in the Delta. She also played in an adult co-ed soccer league with George.
Ginny also loved their many out-of-town adventures with the other soccer parents of their children’s traveling soccer leagues. She adored traveling, especially cruises, going to Monterey, and spending quality time with her beloved family and friends. Ginny was known for her generosity, creating memorable holiday and birthday celebrations for her loved ones, and her overall love and support for all her friends and family, especially her grandkids.
Ginny worked as an executive administrative assistant at Farmers Insurance in Pleasanton for many years. After retiring, she spent her time with her grandkids, friends and traveling.
Ginny is preceded by her parents (Arthur & Virginia Enos), sister (Rosemary Bayless), and daughter (Mishelle Carey). Survived by husband George Wilkinson; son Mitch Wilkinson; daughter-in-law Pam Wilkinson; grandchildren Jake Carey, Trent Wilkinson, Sarah Wilkinson, Dylan Carey, and Brenden Carey; sister-in-law Barbara Steward; brother-in-law Bob Stewart and she is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Augustine Church in Pleasanton, CA on Friday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception following at the church’s hall. Ginny will join her beloved daughter, Mishelle, in their final resting place at St. Augustine Cemetery in Pleasanton, CA.
