Passed away on December 20, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, at the age of 82. Allan was a man whose life was defined by his devotion to family, community, work, and faith.
Born and raised in Chaska, Minnesota, Allan earned his PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University. He went on to have a distinguished career as a research chemist with 3M, where he worked for 32 years. Outside of his professional life, Allan was an avid contributor to his community and church. He was along-time member of the North St. Paul Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, and the Church of St.
Peter. Allan also served on the North St. Paul Planning Commission. Al’s love for his community and work was reflected in his many years of service and the friendships he made along the way. He was deeply proud of the town he called home and worked tirelessly to make it a better place for future generations. Allan’s legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Allan is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma; their children, Kim (Allan) Jarmuz, Tom (Melissa), and Chris (Melinda); and seven cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Leola Worm; and his brother, Jim.
