


Florida beats Georgia to advance to WCWS
Gainesville, fla.>> Taylor Shumaker had three hits and three RBIs — including a two-run home run in the fifth inning — and Keagan Rothrock pitched a complete game to help Florida beat Georgia 5-2 to win the best-of-three Gainesville Super Regional.
Rothrock (16-6) gave up two runs — one earned — on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Kendra Falby drew a lead-off walk in the first inning, stole second and then scored when Shumaker hit a single up the middle.
Rylee Holtorf hit a two-run homer for Florida.
Tennessee 1, Nebraska 0>> Karlyn Pickens pitched a two-hit shutout, Ella Dodge’s first-inning home run provided the only run and No. 7 seed Tennessee defeated unseeded Nebraska 1-0 to win the Knoxville Super Regional.
Two-time SEC Pitcher of the Year Pickens struck out 10, walked one and hit two batters. Her ERA dipped under 1.00 and sits at 0.96 heading into the Women’s College World Series.
UCLA 5, South Carolina 0>> Jessica Clements scored three runs, Jordan Woolery and Rylee Slimp drove in two each, and UCLA defeated South Carolina 5-0 in the decisive third game of the Columbia Super Regional. The Bruins advance to the Women’s College World Series for the record 36th time.
Woolery continued her clutch Super Regional play, driving in Clements with UCLA’s first two runs in the first and fifth innings. It was Woolery who kept UCLA alive on Saturday when she hit a two-run walk-off home run in the Bruins’ 5-4 victory to even the series at a game apiece.
Leading 2-0 through six innings on Sunday, UCLA added three runs in the top of the seventh.
Ole Miss 7, Arkansas 4>> Lair Beautae and Lexie Brady each hit a home run and Aliyah Binford allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings to help Mississippi beat No. 4 seed Arkansas 7-4 to win the Fayetteville Super Regional. Ole Miss (42-19) clinched a berth in the Women’s College World Series for the first time in program history and will face No. 12 overall seed Texas Tech on Thursday.
Binford (11-3) came on in the second inning gave up two hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Starter Brianna Lopez gave up three runs on two hits with four walks over 1 1/3 innings.
