Let’s address this first: With all this talk about paying for and forgiving college education costs, I wonder why no one is concentrating on the real problem. Why is a college education so expensive? Why are we sending our children to campuses that resemble mini pleasure resorts? Why are so many kids getting useless degrees for a dead-end career path? I’ll wait for a response.

Try again in four years: I wish the president would be the president for the rest of his term and let this go about suing over the vote and making our country look bad. You lost the election. You lost it fairly. You keep stoking the fires and trying your best to keep us divided. This is not the way to go about doing things. I understand you want to run again, so run against. But do the right thing right now. Just say I’ll come back and run again in four years. Let the country heal.

No vaccine for this yet: The first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine has shipped but where is the antidote for all the Trump’s lies that continue to plague our democracy? His hate-filled rhetoric may yet prove to be more deadly than any virus.

Allen a White Sox fave: Farewell Dick Allen, rest in peace. One of the all-time greats gave Chicago White Sox fans endless thrills. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I had to watch Allen play at old Comiskey Park on the South Side. Such a shame that he is not a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Time for Pace, Nagy to go: When does the ax come down on (Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan) Pace and (Coach Matt) Nagy. Virginia, open your purse and hire a new general manager and coach. Do we have to wait until the season ends?

Pritzkerville coming: Just like Jimmy Stewart’s character, George Bailey, in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” faced an alternate reality that transformed Bedford Falls into Pottersville, we Illinois citizens are also at the mercy of the whims of an adversary, aka Gov. J.B. Pritzker. Whether it’s overtaxation, overregulation, overreach of personal liberties and restrictive lockdowns of our churches and small businesses, we also living in a modern day nightmare alternative society. Hee-Haw, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Pritzkerville.

Channel 9 plays Scrooge: I was watching Channel 9 and a huge children’s choir singing carols. They were doing a beautiful job. And (the station interrupted it to) put a commercial on there. This is Christmastime. You don’t hear kids sing like this from the heart. It is a joyous moment in their lives probably. It’s beautiful to hear something like that and all of a sudden there’s a commercial. You have to sell something at that moment, you can’t wait. Shame on you.
