Readers respond to Question of the Week: How will Trump govern in term 2?

I expect a slightly softer Trump this term

He still shoots his mouth off way too much, but I happen to agree with many of his stances. I can’t believe a country is willing to house illegals, give them health insurance, etc. and not take care of its homeless citizens, 13% of whom are men and women who served it. I believe there is security in strength and that lies in our leaders and military. I also feel we should be energy independent via solar and wind power and pumping our own oil. My parents were immigrants. I’m all for immigration to this wonderful country, but immigration done right. That means coming into the country, getting vetted, and, if you plan to stay, then become a citizen and swear allegiance to it.

Trump’s top priorities are well defined

They have been highly distorted by his detractors. The better question is what will be done to block his agenda by the bureaucracies, lawfare and blue states’ rights claims. We must get away from legislation by edict first started by President Obama with the DACA program.

The job of president is to use edicts to enforce the law, not to create new ones. The Congress must be clearer on key issues. He has already begun appointing leadership who will enforce the law and end needless regulations. They must eliminate bureaucrats with PTSD by having them seek less stressful opportunities in the private sector. Simplifying regulations is the single most important action for a vibrant economy. The insane immigration policies by leftist progressives will be the greatest area of resistance. They will remain deaf to the will of the people.

Trump’s term 2

To drain the D.C. cesspool President-elect Trump is selecting the best and brightest, highly intelligent with a love of country. The radical left is going insane over these selections because we are determined to bring sanity and common sense back, no more woke, DEI or indoctrination of our children. What is so wrong with making America Great Again? When that happens, then everyone prospers. By the way, Mark Cuban, Trump’s first choice was Susie Wiles for chief of staff, a strong, intelligent woman.
