Three baseball and two softball teams from the South Bay will be competing this week in the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs.

Banning, a L.A. City Section Division I finalist, is the top seed in Division IV. The Pilots will be home against No. 8 Lemoore in a first-round game today at 4 p.m.

The regional semifinals are Thursday and the championship games are Saturday.

The lower seed is the host team in each round, so the Pilots could be home for all three rounds.

Mary Star, the CIF-SS Division 7 champion, is the sixth seed in Division IV. The Stars open on the road against third-seed Estancia at 3:15 p.m. Estancia won the CIF-SS Division 6 championship.

L.A. City Section Division II champion Port of Los Angeles is the No. 5 seed in Division V. The Polar Bears will be on the road against No. 4 Nuview Bridge from Nuevo at 4 p.m.

Port of Los Angeles and Westchester will be competing in the softball regional playoffs.

The Comets, the L.A. City Section Division IV champion, is the No. 5 seed in Division V and will open on the road against No. 4 Culver City today at 4 p.m.

Port of Los Angeles, the L.A. City Section Division I finalist, is the No. 8 seed in Division III. The Polar Bears will be on the road for today’s opening-round game against No. 1 seed Point Loma at 4 p.m.
