Katharin “Kathy” Dale Moore, 78, a lifelong resident of Woodland, California, passed away peacefully November 4, 2024 at her home of over 53 years surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Kathy was born August 2, 1946, to Homer “Herk” Dale Geddes and Phyllis Joan Geddes (Smith) in Woodland.
She graduated from Woodland High School in 1964.
She married James “Jimmie” Moore on June 24, 1967, and together they shared more than 57 wonderful years together.
Soon after high school, Kathy worked as an Operator for Pacific Bell in Sacramento. She loved speaking with the public and facilitating phone calls. She enjoyed volunteer work as a Delta Theta Tau member. Kathy worked as the New Employee Orientation Coordinator at Woodland Memorial Hospital for nearly 10 years. She continued as a volunteer for the Woodland Healthcare Auxiliary, serving in various Board positions. She spent countless hours assisting with the Student Volunteer “Candy Stripers” and managing the hospital gift shop.
She is an honorary Lifetime Member of the Woodland Healthcare Auxiliary.
Along with her volunteer efforts, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, attending sporting events –S.F. Giants &Sacramento Kings -and assisting with all her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Tim Stephens.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie; children, Katie James (Gerald), Bonnie Phillips, Dennis Moore (Michele); and grandchildren Kara James, Emma James, Kody Phillips, Dale Phillips, Benjamin Moore, Nickolas Moore, Noah Moore and Mikel “Mikey” Moore. Survivors also include her loving sisters, Julie Stephens and Jennean (Joe) Rogers and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her extended family and her beloved in-laws, Ronnie (Rita) Moore and Joanne (Danny) Smyth.
Kathy will be missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all of us. Services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at McNary’s Chapel in Woodland. A burial will follow at Monument Hill with a luncheon honoring her life at Cracchiolo’s Hall at noon.
