Town’s oldest commercial building gets a rebrand

Niwot’s oldest commercial building is getting a new name. The 117-year-old Left Hand Grange No. 9 building at 195 Second Ave. is becoming Niwot Hall.

The Left Hand Grange No. 9, a fraternal organization, bought the building in 1945 to use for events. Over the years the building started being used less by the specific group and more by all community members. Now. it hosts an array of meetings, celebrations and cultural events.

Niwot Hall, a newly formed nonprofit group, received the property from Left Hand Grange Inc. in 2023. The building faces ongoing maintenance and needed upgrades, which have been funded in part by the Niwot Local Improvement District and Niwot community groups, according to a press release. The main hall of the building now has an audio-visual system, new lighting, flooring and a new ceiling, according to the release.
