Junior Max Aceves scored 27 points, and Watsonville High’s boys basketball team beat Monte Vista Christian 86-67 in Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division action Monday.
Freshman George Madec scored 14 points for the Wildcatz (7-2, 3-0), who have won five straight games. Junior Leon Madec scored 12 points, and senior Nathaniel Aguilar scored nine points.
“When we make the next pass we are a good team,” Wildcatz coach Andre Bailey said.
Watsonville scored 27 points in the second quarter and carried a 42-26 lead into the half.
Senior Ryan Smart scored 20 points for the Mustangs (6-5, 0-2). Senior guard Nico Downie scored 17 points, and sophomore guard Matteo Vidal scored 16 points.

Sophomore Gianni Zeljo scored a game-high 25 points for the Falcons (5-4, 3-0). Classmate Kai Tsuchitani scored 14 points.
Pajaro Valley plays at Trinity Christian in Monterey on Friday at 6 p.m.

Pajaro Valley 46, Santa Catalina 13 >> Olivia Contreras made a 3-pointer and scored 18 points, and the Grizzlies won their PCAL Cypress Division game Monday.
Alyssa Moore scored 12 points for the Grizzlies (4-8, 2-1), who have won three of their past four games. Elizabeth Zamora chipped in with nine points.
Pajaro Valley plays at St. Francis (10-2, 3-0) on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
