


The San Rafael High baseball team scored twice in the eighth and four times in the ninth to rally for an 8-6 road win against Analy on Friday.
Crus Wexler, Aedan Bardoul, and Dylan Thorpe had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs. Wexler and Andres Davidson had three RBIS each. San Rafael tied the game on a two-run double by Wexler then won it following back-to-back errors by Analy.
• San Marin put together four big innings in a 16-0 win against Branson on Friday. The Mustangs scored three in the first, six in the third, four in the fifth, then three more in the sixth. Joey Cippolina reached base four times with two hits and two walks. Matthew Baldino had two hits, three RBIs, and scored three times. Dylan Procopio hit a grand slam in the third inning.
• San Domenico scored all the runs it would need in a nine-run third inning, defeating Summerfield Waldorf 9-4 on Friday. Will Rothstein delivered the big hit of the inning with a double. Oliver Bennett had two hits, including a double, and pitched the first three innings.
Late playoffs
The Branson School boys basketball team built a big early lead and never looked back en route to a 61-41 victory against San Domenico in the North Coast Section Division III title game on Friday night at College of Marin.
Branson led 31-21 at the break and led most of the second half by double digits. Results of this game and the other late basketball and soccer NCS games can be found online at marinij.com/sports and will run in Sunday’s print edition.
The Redwood girls extended their season following a 72-65 road win against Clayton Valley Charter in the third-place game of NCS D-I basketball playoffs. Redwood had a four-point lead with the ball inside the final minute and put the game away with a clutch corner 3-pointer for the final margin. The Giants moved on to NorCals win the win.
The San Rafael boys were also in a third-place game, attempting to extend their season, but lost 62-50 against Berkeley.
The Archie Williams boys soccer team defeated Granada 3-2 in the D-II title game at Granada. Sean Chamberlin and Willy Finley scored late in the first half to put the Falcons up 2-1. Archie Williams went ahead on a free kick inside the final 15 minutes.
Prep softball
Izzy Rykov pitched all seven innings, striking out seven to lead Novato to a 7-4 victory against Salesian on Friday. Seanna Madsen had a couple among her two hits and drove in two runs. Georgiana Castro hit a triple, stole three bases, and scored twice. Giana Flores had two doubles.
• Ava Brown had two of Redwood’s three hits out of the leadoff spot as the Giants fell 4-1 against Alameda on Friday. Brown drove in Redwood’s only ruin on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the seventh. Ashley Ball had Redwood’s other hit. Starting pitcher Stella Belluomini worked 5.2 innings, allowing four hits and two runs — one earned.
Boys volleyball
Tam swept San Marin, 25-13, 25-11, 25-11, to win its season debut on Thursday. Yaseen Ashraf anchored the Red-tailed Hawks with 12 assists and a very long run at serve. Owen Penrose had a team-high seven kills.
Boys lacrosse
Tyler Smith scored six goals and assisted on two others as Novato beat Windsor, 20-0, on Thursday to sweep the Hornets’ two-game homestead during the opening week of the season. Johnny Roman netted five goals and an assist, while Brian Yates and Parker Nap each had three goals and three assists.
Boys tennis
Jack Millar, Felix Adam, and Burke Hadd won at Nos.1-3, respectively, for Marin Catholic in a 7-0 win against San Rafael on Friday. MC won No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles by default.
• Witt Bulger and Sam Zail secured wins at the top two singles spots to lead Tam to a 7-0 win against Novato on Friday.
• San Domenico beat Archie Williams, 6-1, on Thursday. The Panthers swept doubles and got singles wins from Tuan Le (6-1, 6-1) at the top of the singles order, No. 2 Alton Bender (6-0, 6-1) and No. 3 Jack Kabat (6-4, 7-5).
Fundraiser
Registration is open for the 36th annual Marin Athletic Fund golf tournament. The event is scheduled for Monday, April 21, at Indian Valley Golf Club, with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
