Santa Cruz

Jeremy Hale, 47, resident of Santa Cruz, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, ending a life filled with a passion for Vegan activism, animal welfare, music, vegan cooking and graphic design.

He is survived by his mother, Lynn Hale, his stepfather, Jerry Hale, his half-sister, Leah Lynn Till, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Billy Dwight Till.

He was a "jack of all trades" as a bartender, a taxi driver, working in restaurants and even a state park. He was an avid fan of the Burning Man Festival, attending for years. He went to school for music recording, but never lost his zeal for cooking. He was a long time Vegan and preached Veganism to everyone he met, hoping, in his own way, to bring about change and to improve the welfare of animals. He developed his own recipes for Vegan cuisine. He wanted to use his cooking skills to provide more Vegan food options in Santa Cruz.

To best remember Jeremy, the family asks that donations be made to: Hen Harbor, animal sanctuary near Santa Cruz Little Hill Sanctuary, animal sanctuary in Watsonville, Ca
