Long time Boulder resident and Commercial Real Estate Broker, Tom Hill, passed away in Longmont, Colorado, on January 12, 2023, after fighting a brave battle with cancer.

He was accompanied by family when he passed peacefully.

Tom Hill and Mary Lee Petit met when they were 14 years old in Gary, Indiana, and have enjoyed a 75-year, loving relationship ever since. While they attended Tolleston High School, Tom was the quarterback on the football team and Mary Lee was a cheerleader.

Tom also worked in the steel mills after football practice as a masonry apprentice. Tom graduated from High School in 1952. He joined the Air Force and married Mary Lee in 1953 so that she would be able to accompany him for duty. His service included time in England, Mississippi, and Oregon. He received an Honorary Discharge in 1961 after serving four years of active duty and four years of Reserve Duty with the US Air Force.

Tom moved his family to Boulder, Colorado in 1963. He was a member of Elks Club, Flatirons Country Club and was active with the Fair view High School Boosters while his sons attended high school. He was a successful salesman with Fisher Chevrolet and a successful entrepreneur with Boulder Moving & Storage. He began his real estate career with Boulder Realty almost 50 years ago. He enjoyed getting the opportunity to work with his sons for several years while at Moore & Company but eventually finished his career with Wright - Kingdom Real Estate.

He served his clients with respect and loyalty.

Tom worked until his body would no longer allow it. He left his mark on the Boulder Real Estate environment through his leadership and mentorship.

Tom is preceded in death by both his parents, Hector Samuel Hill and Victoria Charais; three of his brothers, Anthony, Edward and John; his two sisters, Victoria and Agnes; his daughter, Lauren Lee Hill; and his son Tim Hill. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Hill; his brother, Richard "Doe"

Hill, his two sons, Michael and Daniel; his five grandchildren, Chad, Chelsey, Connor, Ethan and Madeline; his five great grandchildren; and his nephews Karl "Skip' Gottschling and Kim Gottschling.

A Meet & Greet Open House and Celebration of Tom's Life will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 p.m. at Carelli's Restaurant, 645 30th St., Boulder, CO 80303.
