Hacienda Heights, CA Born in Stockton, California, passed peacefully at his daughter’s home in Pasadena, California. Preceded in death by his parents Kay Sun and Eil Sim Jong Kim (Wan), seven siblings, and his wife of 66 years Mabel Kim (Lee).

Ken was a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father, and adored by his grandchildren. He married Mabel Lee on Aug 12,1954 in Prescott, Arizona. They are survived by their children: Kathy Dice (Harry) of Costa Mesa, Shari Williams (Dennis) of Hawaii, Lori Kim (Steve Zuker) of Colorado, Tracy Erickson (David) of Pasadena, David Kim (Teresa Goetze) of Sacramento, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Ken believed strongly in education, giving of his time, and dedication to community service. He served in the US Army in Japan, graduated from Whittier College, earned a Master’s degree from California State LA, taught at Montebello public schools, served as Executive Director of Montebello Teachers Association and as a Trustee on the Board of the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. He was a Kiwanis International member, supported several charities, and delivered MEALS on WHEELS to senior citizens for over 25 years. During retirement he enjoyed the camaraderie of playing golf and tennis with his many friends, well into his 90’s.

An All-Saints Sunday service for families of those that passed away this year and last year, including Ken Kim, to commemorate their lives, will be held on Nov 3, 2024 at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Hacienda Heights.
