Burbank
HOME SHOT: Dylan J. Magana, Markham, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm Friday in connection with the Oct. 31 evening shooting of a home in the 7800 block of Laramie Avenue, police said. Officers used public and private surveillance cameras to identify a vehicle and subsequently arrested Magana and recovered a firearm with assistance of Markham, police said.
Crete
REVOKED CRASH: James A. Wilder, 54, 26000 block of Winston Lane, Crete, was arrested Oct. 17 after crawling out of his vehicle following a crash at Burville Road and State Street. Wilder had outpaced police for three miles from Illinois Route 394, police said. He was charged with driving on a revoked license, aggravated fleeing, driving more than 20 mph above the speed limit and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, according to police and court records online.
MACHINE GUN: Tajheem J. Lawson, 21, 800 block of White Oak Lane, University Park, was charged with possessing a machine gun/automatic weapon in a vehicle, two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of aggravated fleeing from a personal injury crash, according to court records online. Lawson fled after being stopped for speeding on Crete Road near Exchange Street Friday, crashed in the 1100 block of East Exchange Street, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Jennifer E. Perkins, 49, 200 block of 16th Street, Chicago Heights, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer. Perkins scratched an officer’s face and hit the officer’s hand early Monday after her arrest on accusations of reckless driving and fleeing/eluding police, police said.
Evergreen Park
DEALING ALLEGED: Gus E. Allen, 59, Chicago, was arrested Wednesday at 96th Place and Kedzie Avenue and accused of illegally possessing controlled substances with intent to deliver after officers stopped a rental truck reported stolen from Chicago and recovered one gram of suspected “crack” cocaine from Allen and then searched the vehicle, recovering 32 grams of cannabis, 10 grams of suspected heroin and six methadone tablets, police said.
SQUADS DAMAGED: Patrick L. Larke, 18, Chicago, was arrested and accused of two counts of damaging government property in the 2500 block of 95th Street after driving into a squad car while fleeing arrest on another jurisdiction’s fleeing/eluding warrant and then striking a second squad car at 95th Street and Western Avenue Oct. 31.
Lansing
DEALING ALLEGED: Lorenzo Padilla, 25700 block of Truman Street, Monee, was arrested Oct. 11 at 173rd Street and Burnham Avenue and accused of possessing cannabis with intent to deliver after officers recovered 325 grams in 20 metalized plastic bags and six clear plastic bags, 15 cannabis vape pens and $6,731 cash, police said.
Lockport
CHILD PORNOGRAPHY: Steven J. Spencer, 37, 500 block of 10th Street, Lockport was arrested Oct. 30 after investigators executing a search of his home determined he used social media to request pornographic images from, and sexual encounters with, five girls aged 16 or younger in New York, Washington and southern Illinois, police said. Spencer is charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, one count of indecent solicitation of a child and one count of grooming, according to court records online.
STRANGULATION: Sergio J. Chavez, 40, 600 block of Katherine Street, Lockport, was arrested Saturday and accused of aggravated domestic battery/strangulation, police said.
ELDER ABUSE: Yanal K. Zanilah, 51, 300 block of Dell Park Avenue, Lockport, was arrested Friday after shoving a thumb into the victim’s eye, Will County sheriff’s police said. Zanilah is charged with aggravated battery to a person 60 years or older, according to court records online.
Markham
RECKLESS SHOOTING: Jason R. Steinbrenner, 21, 14800 block of Whipple Avenue, Posen, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm, according to a court spokesperson. Steinbrenner fired multiple shots into the air while bicycling near 149th Street and Whipple Avenue early Oct. 26, police said.
Monee
STRANGULATION: Norris J. Little, 35, 25900 block of Derby Drive, Monee, is scheduled to appear in Will County court Nov. 15, charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery/strangulation, four counts of aggravated battery in a public place and four counts of domestic battery, according to court records online. Little was arrested Oct. 30.
New Lenox
GUN POSSESSION: John J. Walters, 39, 16600 block of 147th Place, Lockport, was arrested Saturday and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after Silver Cross Hospital staff reported he brought a loaded .380 caliber handgun into the facility, police said.
Orland Park
CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE: A Chicago couple was charged with continuing a financial criminal enterprise, possessing stolen property and retail theft after arresting officers recovered 92 clothing items from Orland Park and Homewood stores collectively selling for $1,776.53, police said. Judith A. Boyd, 29, and Jeffery Rice Jr., 42, were taken into custody Oct. 18 in the 15800 block of La Grange Road, police said.
Palos Heights
DUI CRASH: Shannon J. English, 53, 7300 block of Pottawattomi Drive, Palos Heights, was arrested and accused of drunken driving Nov. 3 after hitting a parked vehicle in the 12700 block of 74th Avenue, police said.
Park Forest
PREDATORY ALLEGATION: Michael A. Merrill, 32, Momence, is scheduled to appear in Will County court Nov. 15, charged with soliciting a child for sex, according to court records online. Merrill, arrested Oct. 31 to the 23400 block of Western Avenue, had sexually explicit communications online with a person he thought was a 12-year-old girl and drove to Park Forest to meet her and her 5-year-old cousin, police said.
CROWD CONTROL: Police say it took two hours to disperse hundreds of juveniles attending a Saturday night party in the 400 block of Shabbona Drive. Officers responding at about 10 p.m. encountered illegally parked vehicles and juveniles walking in the street and in yards, police said. Multiple agencies helped send the juveniles home safely without arrests, police said.
University Park
GUN POSSESSION: Christian M. Johnson, 24, 15900 block of Ellis Avenue, South Holland, was arrested Oct. 28 and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after deputies recovered a 9 mm handgun from him in the 25000 block of Western Avenue and determined his Illinois gun permit was revoked, according to Will County sheriff’s records online.
