Forward Kevin Knox II and two-way center Quinten Post each scored 17 points, and the Santa Cruz Warriors never trailed in their 112-107 win over the Windy City Bulls to wrap up play in the NBA G League Winter Showcase in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday evening.
Post also had 11 rebounds at Orange County Convention Center to secure his fifth double-double of the season.
Two-way guard Pat Spencer had 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in his third game with Santa Cruz (7-9).
Forward Black Hinson came off the bench and scored 16 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes. Forward Jackson Rowe made four of the Warriors’ 19 3-pointers. He finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Guard Yuri Collins scored 10 points. He also had eight of the Warriors’ 30 assists.
Windy City (5-11) was led by two-way guard DJ Steward, who recorded 21 points and 12 assists for his fourth double-double of the season.
Two-way forward/center Adama Sanogo had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls. Guard Chris Duarte, on assignment from Chicago, had 15 points and six assists.
Two-way forward EJ Liddell contributed 13 points and five rebounds for Windy City, and forward Ben Coupet Jr. and center David Muoka each scored 12 points.
Santa Cruz opens the regular season on the road against Rio Grande Valley at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas. The teams’ two-game series begins Friday at 5 p.m. They’ll also play Saturday at 5 p.m.
